Director of Sales and Marketing
£100k basic plus bonus and shares London
Our client is a highly successful long established privately owned company employing over 400 people in the UK with three overseas subsidiaries in Europe, China and the USA. A manufacturer of branded consumer durables and domestic consumables the company enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality and reliability of its products which are currently exported to over 50 countries. The company has recently acquired additional production capacity and facilities by the acquisition of a competitor and seeks to appoint an outstanding individual to the role of overseeing all Sales and Marketing activity throughout the Group during a periodic of further planned expansion and new market entry. The appointment will be a main board position with the potential to develop into a Managing Director role over time.
    The Task
  • Reporting to the Group Managing Director and main board for the efficient wide ranging management of sales and Marketing and the achievement of Group targets.
  • Managing a complex international production and supply system and a large network of overseas agents and distributors.
  • Further develop the brand in highly competitive world markets and manage a substantial promotional budget
  • Produce and implement development strategies and local business plans to maximise business performance
  • Manage a large international team to maintain outstanding product quality and customer satisfaction.
    The Candidate
  • The ideal candidate would ideally have a consumer durables / consumables or retail background where product quality and market management are paramount considerations.
  • Graduate calibre ideally holding a Masters degree in Marketing and having a minimum of 8 years experience in a senior Sales and Marketing management role in a customer dominated industry.
  • An enthusiastic, pragmatic and energetic hands-on individual with the ability to motivate and inspire a following in employees, agents and distributors.
  • A strong grasp of international strategic marketing management issues with experience of responsibility for a major brand.
