Director of Human Resources
£90k basic plus excellent package South East
Our client is a substantial UK public company with a market leading national brand position in the major business and public sector support industry. The company provides essential infrastructure services to clients and has diversified its activities into related fields by internal expansion and acquisition. People are its critical resource and the company places great emphasis and investment in maintaining its reputation for quality and reliability by the continuous development of its people. The company wishes to appoint a Director of Human Resources to this newly created position to plan and implement the integration of several recently acquired businesses into the parent firm. This is the most senior high profile HR position in the Group and calls for an outstanding and highly experienced individual.
    The Task
  • Reporting to the Group CEO for the efficient wide ranging management of Human Resources and the implementation of integration plans in the firm.
  • To evaluate existing manpower resources and to optimise requirements throughout the newly enlarged and restructured company.
  • Re-engineer existing HR management to establish a centralised HR function in the firm.
  • Produce HR plans and budgets to deliver business plan targets..
  • Manage all regional HR activities and facilities in the wider business operations including responsibility for compensations and benefits, pay negotiations, contracts, health & safety, management development, and corporate culture.
    The Candidate
  • The ideal candidate would have numerous years experience within a major UK public company in a senior HR management position within a major support services provider where HR plays an important role at the heart of the business.
  • Graduate calibre ideally also holding a Masters degree in a relevant discipline with exposure to corporate strategy.
  • An enthusiastic, pragmatic and energetic hands-on individual with the ability to motivate and inspire a following in employees, JV partners and customers.
  • A strong grasp of the relationship of HR to business strategic issues in a major firm with experience of structure / restructure and hands-on experience of succession planning and people development.
